San Antonio investors?

Thanks to BG, 2014 is shaping up to be the year I make my first bona fide, genuine, certifiable real estate investment purchase. Woot! Woot! I had narrowed it down to a 2-4 unit multi in San Antonio but, after speaking with two local real estate investor agents, they each recommended SFRs over a multi explaining SFRs were the preferred rental property in San Antonio. Honestly, it surprised me, especially since they both have rental properties of their own. Can anyone comment on this?
