That's a large reason why San Francisco is rapidly losing it's child population and has the lowest percentage of homes with children in the entire U.S.

If you have a college-aged child who is still your tax dependent, they could live in the house and legally fulfill the FHA "living in" requirement.  

it is not about screening or luck. they could be perfect when you screen them. people could change overtime. they could become smarter while they live there. they could lose their jobs. they have child support which they don't have that while screening.  

Maybe have one LLC (parent) own the other LLCs (child)?

If you know of a small child that now has brain damage due to PAST exposure to the meth, then there may be a moral obligation to let the parents know what happened.But if the units don't share common ventilation or there is otherwise a minimal or very low risk that other areas of the building were contaminated, then I think you can sleep easy at night knowing that there was likely to be no damage or issue elsewhere and the landlord took care of the issue.Stirring up drama over something that is no longer an issue is not in anybody's best interest.
