On that same bathroom, will most buyers be satisfied with the low priced ceramic tile you can get for less than $1/foot, or should you splurge some and step it up to $3 or $4/foot tile, along with adding those expensive detail tiles as well, maybe put some kind of fancy pattern in there, too.

Sadly I wasn't as knowledgeable about finances during undergrad and ended up splurging on my student loans (even though I was a full scholarship athlete - didn't read the fine print on the disclosures ugh!).

@Dave Poeppelmeier all we asked for from the onset was a voucher instead of dropping thousands of dollars in someone's lap so they can splurge at Wal-Mart...But we have not really had any issues with non-payment since the onset...outside of a limited few folks.

I pay for slightly better than minimum stainless steel (ss) appliances, and stackable washers and dryers: fridge with gray sides instead of black (unless I’m putting it in a cabinet, then just make sure the handle is ss), but don’t splurge for an ice maker unless included (150ish more), Range has sturdy Grates with ss knobs, top and behind knobs (150 more) and is usually a 5 burner, dishwasher is solid ss with buttons on top ($100 more), over range microwave more stainless with a look similar to the range (25-50 more).
