Also, what was the quality of the on base housing compared to off base.As far as the destinations you mentioned, I know there are definitely opportunities in Oceanside, CA near Camp Pendleton and Desert Hot Springs and Cathedral City near 29 Palms.

. ;-) Oddly enough, there are a bunch of ice skating rinks and ice hockey here in the desert.

Hi Everyone, I bought a distressed property for cash in Desert Hot Springs (Riverside County). 

I’m looking to invest in the surrounding areas like the high desert area. i have construction background so I am looking to do most repairs myself .I am lookng for property that Is driving distance from me.

I'm sure there are meetups in the Desert as it is fairly different from the rest of CA even the Inland Empire

My family and I picked up a triplex in the high desert not too long ago and looking to continue.

The Valley spans from Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs in the West, to Indio and Coachella to the South East.

Tourism is an historic well established business there and make a comparison Mexico Vs Colombia is like compare a tropical island vs a desert .

Bonus is if you can move to larger parcels that may have timber value.trying to find lots for builders is pretty much a non starter builders find their own lots.. and are not going to over pay.this is why the guys that do this primariliy are working the deserts of the south west.. high deserts of CA rural Texas NM  AZ  so on and so forth..
