They look like the real thing and come in more modern colors, but obviously they are vinyl and easy to install.

I would consider painting trim and doors a contrasting color. 

Trying to decide if I should:1) Paint the exterior, if so, what color?

I would hae been satisfied with the sealant that covers the surface and makes everything a uniform black color at no extra charge, which the contractor promied via text and an additional contract. 

Don't hold your breath for a 10 step coloring book, in fact, don't hold your breath at all for the result, it's too long and will probably need to be done as a series.
