Where are you living at this point?

However, I am thinking of having my parents who are retired living there part of the year and doing STR for the remainder of the time.

Always do your due diligence folks, search for their name on here, check for criminal and civil court cases in the county they live/do business in, etc. 

As MFH is dropping there shorts to get and keep full occupancy, offering every spif imaginable, larger units are to accommodate families of size or multi-gen living is a rare inventory. 

(or if they're primary buyers, they don't care about yield, since they're going to live there.)i just went to visit two very distressed properties yesterday that i would buy.... if they were priced 50% lower.  

My most trusted and often used contractor who lives in the area, and is practically a friend is the emergency contact.   

There are also Zoom calls where people practice their underwriting live.

I was thinking maybe Houston because my boyfriend lives there and I’m there a good portion of the year as is, but I’m open to any good market.

Hi Anthony, it sounds like you’re in a good position to start building your STR portfolio, especially with no debt, great credit, and rent-free living!

There has been a squatter living in it for about 3 years, that refuses access to anyone that I have sent out there to assess the property.Safeguard personnel stopped communication with me last year.
