You need to get plywood cabinets, and a "cultured" marble top (which is not too durable either- it won't peel off, but is somewhat easily chipped or broken); or get a solid surface ("Corian" type), or stone products that will typically last a very long time.

It does rely on a few assumptions, such as continued occupancy, good property management to keep that occupancy up and maintenance costs reasonable, and that the initial rehab (other than the issues I am experiencing) was of good/durable quality.
