Normally I would say no but for a small condo the durability should be less of an issue. 

Not gonna put it over the carpet.  Any recommendations for something that will last for awhile?  I have lumber liquidators, home Depot, Lowe's, and who knows what else near me (central CT).

I focus on mid-grade quality items that are durable and pleasant to use yet not so nice that people are tempted to swipe them and are then expensive to replace.
