I have two units I need to renovate, wanted to know if I should take out the existing tabs and replace with new or call a refinishing/glazing company to renew the bathrooms?

What are your thoughts and if you can recommend me someone that did a great job for you

I’m located in Mount sterling, KY

    Replied

@Shahar Joseph I have re glazed many tubs here in apartment buildings here in Berwyn and Cicero right outside of Chicago. I would say make sure you go in with the expectation that this is a somewhat temporary fix. The finish will NOT hold up for 10 years. In most cases, I end up having touch ups every time the apartment turns over. If you get a really good person to do the work you might get 5-7 years out of it.

The plus side is that you don't have to replumb the bathroom which saves quite a bit of money, time and hassle. Also, some of these tubs are very, very sturdy so they will last another 100 years or more if you leave them alone. The newer tubs will give you 15-20 years and then they will be shot (if they even last that long).
