You want to feel if you're competing for a tenant with a neighborhood competitor that your house shows better.  

Besides the cost and the inspection frequency, you may want to know what the competitors are doing.

The notion that someone was good at running a campaign, shaking hands and trashing there competitor does NOT have any bearing that they have a clue how economics works and what is or isn't "good" policy to enact. 

Don't overspend on items that your competitors' properties don't have or that are just too much for the rental market you're in!

Highly inappropriate and unethical that realtor acts as your competitor in a transaction that you were obviously interested in and aware of.
