If I was still okay with the property for,acquisition after that, I would get a full inspection done on it and see what they uncover.  

Get a lawyer to know how much they are liable if they did not uncover or reveal the full extent of the damage.

Seems like they're more worried about getting sued than giving advice The inspector's role isn't to give advice, but rather to uncover issues that may need further investigation.
