It's a good idea to learn as you go forward, but make sure you don't put the cart in front of the horse and go waste other peoples time with hypothetical questions.And, I agree with what Dell said - don't worry about asking "silly" questions, especially on here.

One is an installment sale (the CFD) and a loan requires a security interest, as similar as a cow and a horse, no wait, those are too similar, as similar as a horse and an eagle.Use a deed of trust to perfect the security interest for a loan, nothing else. :)
