We replace windows and doors with energy efficient (not top of the line) products if needed.In New England its the utility costs that tends to drive tenant turnover.

I am a native New Englander and small time investor with some successes and failures. 

In this Boston neighborhood, most of this 100 year old 3 fmly houses are covered with vinyl siding due to our "lovely" New England winters!

And in New England, where original lot lines refer to "Nathaniel Overthere's barn" it gets interesting.

The Hampton Inn we stayed at had 8 pools. 2 reg pools on the outside with 2 lazy rivers on each side and then 2 more pools with 2 whirpools on each side.The only thing I didn't like was the hot breakfast the day we left could have been much better.We went on the Sky Wheel at the beach that is enclosed like the rotating wheel in England.

It is also one of the fastest growing cities in New England, which went from a population of 150K to 220K in a matter of 7 years.

I understand that in the New England area people move around with their own washer/dryers...
