I am a woman if my word, but this was offensive and ridiculous because we hadn't discussed details. so, at first I was thinking no way I sign this one paragraph agreement with so many holes, but my other option knew was to fight for another month or two (I had called local mediation and they had said it would be 3 weeks before they could meet with us.) this paragraph guaranteed they'd be out by the 20th, and would surrender their deposit...I signed it and they are moving right now. not sure if I did the right thing, but sometimes you gotta compromise some security, and take a chance like this, and I am so glad I did. lesson learned was always assume anyone can turn into a lunatic, so do your paperwork, and keep immaculant records.

So as long as regional prices (what CPI measures) and in relation average salaries/wages (more pay = able to pay higher prices) are going up, the landlord can continue to raise prices.Another thing I noticed in the bill: "§ 214 (B) THE TENANT IS VIOLATING A SUBSTANTIAL OBLIGATION OF HIS OR HER TENANCY, OTHER THAN THE OBLIGATION TO SURRENDER POSSESSION, AND HAS FAILED TO CURE SUCH VIOLATION AFTER WRITTEN NOTICE THAT THE VIOLATION CEASE WITHIN TEN DAYS OF RECEIPT OF SUCH WRITTEN NOTICE, PROVIDED HOWEVER, THAT THE OBLIGATION OF TENANCY FOR WHICH VIOLATION IS CLAIMED WAS NOT IMPOSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CIRCUMVENTING THE INTENT OF THIS ARTICLE;" This sounds like if the tenant violates the lease agreement and does not fix it within 10 days of notice you can evict

Depending on when the contract was purchased, there may be a surrender charge period (amount of time the majority of the funds need to remain in the contract to avoid a penalty - ie surrender charge), however, most companies will waive this on a death claim so it’s unlikely that will be a factor.
