It would be heart breaking to rehab the property nicely only to find out that buyers may drag the price down due to the train track running .

I've been on here long enough to have read the heartbreaking stories of people getting tricked into learning how to 'negotiate' by calling their credit card companies and increasing their credit lines and end up losing $40-50k.

Sad thing is, this was the NEW unit and NEW theft-prevention cage that the seller had installed because the prior unit was stolen as well.While we the seller and I had made it amicably through all of the inspection and repair processes, this recent additional theft of the AC unit has made me want to back away.Now - in what is very frustrating and heartbreaking - the seller is refusing to sign the "release from contract" form, refusing to allow the return of my earnest money, and is also asking that I compensate him $500 for the AC cage.

We just set out a single mom and 6 kids into 10 inches of snow 2 weeks ago and it's heartbreaking for sure but you have to decide if you are running a business or a charity. 

@Jennifer Jones though it may be heart breaking,  you may be saving yourself a lot of hassle in the long run. 

I came to believe that I should be greatefull for an average job and dreaming is unproductive and frankly rather heartbreaking.

It is so heart-breaking when you find a duplex to start the real estate journey and it is either under contract or already got sold.

Stuff happens and a potential foreclosure on a family member is heart breaking.

It is sad, sometimes even heartbreaking but that is reality.
