You can work as an "unlicensed assistant" just to get some experience and then your broker can sponsor you for the class and you'll have a really good idea at that point what to expect out of the job. 

For multi family with a qualified sponsor, you wouldn't be looking at rates much higher.

@Lee Nestlerode, definitely run a background check as there is a high degree of variability in the quality of sponsors out there.

Generally what they'll typically all share is that they have to believe in the sponsor/investor.

We had to deal with re-zoning, we’re having the building green verified for tax-abatement, and we are doing a full gut and re-design.The lender and title company for that investor are open to sponsoring a meet-up for people, and this seemed like a good spot to ask what parts of a full gut people are interested in.
