The issues are a) we did not know she had the washer and dryer until we had to do some unrelated plumbing repairs and b) the dryer does not have a vent hose with proper ventilation, and c) she's using a regular 20-amp outlet (not grounded) for the dryer in one of the bedrooms.

If not, they sell timers you can attach to a garden hose, and can be set multiple times a day.

If its just bad washers in the hoses and the hoses are in good shape, replace the washers.

We are also about to test an leak detecting auto-shutoff valve.In a multi-unit building also remove - or place behind locking plates - any hose bibs to avoid tenants washing their vehicles or running sprinklers for their kids.I would be very surprised if you would be permitted to drill a well within the City.
