If so that is one layer of protection.Insurance another layer.You could get an umbrella policy for a 3rd layer.Also banks won't usually finance a property in an LLC.

I'm intending to use insurance (homeowners, landlord, umbrella) as my risk mitigation for the time being so, while I know there are a lot out there who are going to recommend an LLC for legal protections (and I will hear them out), I'm mostly interested in what will be the best way to begin marketing under a business name.

Best tactic is;  Have good liability insurance and an umbrella, keep the houses repaired well, be quick to fix things, be a good landlord.

I have an insurance policy (in my LLC name) for each property.I was wondering if this is common, or is it better to have one Umbrella-type policy that includes all the properties, so insteadt of having to get a new house added to my existing policy, I would be able to just add a new house to an "umbrella policy"Thanks!
