It gets made fun of for being "Stepford" but it is a really cool place.

Another reason for distressed land is because my local housing market is a heavy sellers' market (based on my limited real estate knowledge and after what I experienced purchasing my primary residence last year) so I'm trying to use the time while the market cools a little to invest in other opportunities.

Luckily my wife is a computer programmer and is doing pretty well and her boss has been pretty cool with my condition.  

If we sold we would likely move back to the states in two year in the hopes of buying another property with the proceeds from our sale after the market possibly cools down.

We're still cool, still friends, but we have different goals in life now.  

I have had "experienced" HVAC companies install shoddy systems that don't fully cool.

The longer you hold it, the less valuable that gain becomes.Either way, I think having that large of an asset it pretty cool, so good luck with it!
