ok, my best friends parents decided they want to move & have already purchased a new home, yet to move in (waiting on some work to finish)either way we've come to an agreement of 20k total over 3 years with 5k down.its basically a 4 bedroom 1 bath. it needs atleast 5k in work. mostly flooring, Drywall, & some kitchen work, 10k would really spruce it up with some new cabinetry & central AC. That being said, depending on odor there are other strategies to lock it in or neutralize it depending on the type of odor (acid/protein/uric/etc.).

This project really required a team to mastermind which way we were going.... from restoring it to the 20's vibe, making it contemporary loft feel, or basic rehab.After reviewing the project we found that it would be partial restore (like removing drywall from the beautiful bricks inside the apartments), to acid cleaning the HUGH building, and adding a garden park feel in the center of the closed courtyard.The condo conversion (from Apartment status) was our focus for getting upside.What was the outcome?

I don't see how sticking tint film onto the outside surface of the glass would make it porous unless you're using hydrofluoric acid in the adhesive.
