Another flag was that the applicant put his/her previous landlord's phone number as his/her own phone number even though he was in contact with me using a different phone number.Other potential red flags: - Applicant seemed to be very desperate and has texted that he/she "really needs this rental" (paraphrasing). - Applicant needed a lot of help figuring out how to get the application sent (will be moving from another state). - Applicant only provided one reference which he/she already listed as his/her supervisor at his/her current job. - And my gut is questioning whether the supervisor was legitimate or not.

We are on lockdown in NJ so there are no home visits, no renovations, nothing right now and I expect the full lockdown to last 2-4 weeks and then even after that, I don't think appointments will be easy even if sellers are desperate.

California is on lockdown and touring homes is probably going to fall under "non-essential activity" so it may get worse before it gets better in the short term.Not sure what your margins are or how fast you need to sell, but we are in desperate times and desperate times tend to call for desperate measures.
