While I don't have experience with a big STR management company, I tend to think if you are going to have your property managed, if you pick the right local outfit (make sure they're solid), you get a company who can devote more individual attention to optimizing your listing.

Most of the turn key outfits that rep... turn key companies.. ( and there is a bunch here on BP) want to line up with companies that are fully vertically integrated..

Many just do this in their BP profile, which is also effective but perhaps a little less direct.From my perspective, coming onto a site like BP with an appeal to a mass group is very different than approaching a particular HML outfit.

Whenever some new outfit comes along promising 30% returns on $40k properties, with no actual office, a 'minimalist' website, and a waiting period just to schedule a call, wait a day or two for all the pros to come out for a collective eye roll.

A nice shot overlooking the city from a pool in the hills would be worth a few hundred bucks a day...the subjects would bring several outfit changes, take a bunch of pics in each outfit, then post the pictures throughout the year.
