We manage and help investors buy properties in NOVA and condo fees can definitely be a killer. 

@John Teachout Yes this is in Nova Scotia, Canada. 

Between the Marine Corps base nearby, and the amount of people who aren't yet able to buy in NoVa, they will end up doing the same thing as you... getting something cheap from craigslist, Ikea, etc.

I work right down the road at Nova Chemicals :DI have a few rentals back in Indiana County but I am looking to expand into Beaver County now as well so looking forward to seeing where this thread goes.http://www.acrebeaver.org/

Others will disagree but I live in NOVA but don’t invest here as I find much better deals in other parts of the country or other areas in the mid Atlantic area

The realtor selling the property said the best use would be to tear down the building and put in a gas station, 3 acres property, realtor stated selling as land.Location of property: NOVA, busy intersection in a huge growth area. 

There are lots of ways to learn more and get involved in the local real estate investor community in NOVA.  

There is a Nova REI group on Facebook but not sure if they have regular meetups. 

What are your thoughts on NOVA area?
