Does your lease state the lower level cannot be used as a bedroom as it is unfinished and does not contain an egress window?

You should have an operating agreement and make sure it contains all the provisions required.

I'm worried that this ceiling contains asbestos and that they may have been disturbed and are now in the air of that unit.

My research at the time said that they stay contained near a bed.

Also, I'm not sure how they made these designations, but some of these designated areas contain million-dollar high rise condos and several luxury class A apartments.
