California Town was 95% burned down with over 6700 structures destroyed and is still growing in size. Currently, the fire cruse is having major trouble trying to contain the WIldfire and it is going threw Chico, CA right now! Strong wind gusts and very dry conditions aren't helping with fighting the blaze and trying to contain the raging wildfire that is causing so much damage and grief.
Can you imagine, going to the grocery store or visiting a friend down the street, and an hour later seeing smoke a few miles away, not thinking much about it or being very worried about it...but a few minutes / hours later being forced by order to LEAVE NOW and a few hours later you find out that multiple people are considered missing and that almost the whole town was completely wiped out... as if a bomb went off and flatted the entire area..
Well, this is very much a reality for people Northern California in Butt County. Families and businesses in Paradise, CA and Magalia, CA (and surrounding communities) were literally nearly wiped out in a matter of a few hours. According to what I heard and seen from heartbreaking first accounts/videos and sources of events that tragically unfolded in Paradise, CA; a very peaceful town of about 26,000 residences were all mandatory evacuated a few short hours after the fire first ignited early Thursday morning...
According to a CNN article, "The Camp Fire left the mayor of Paradise, population 26,000, in shock. 'There's really not much left. There are very few homes still standing and we've been in multiple different neighborhoods this afternoon," Mayor Jody Jones said. She estimated only 10 to 20% of homes are left."'. Can you imagine the heartbreak and pain thousands of people, that are facing tonight and the next following months, most likely will carry on in them for the next few decades from now! Tragically, the Camp Fire will go down in history and people all over the world, years and decades from now will always be shocked by the destruction and pain that this fire caused.
Just imagine going to pick up something from the store and not having a place to cook and eat it, because it is quite possible that everything you own and your home is/maybe completely be gone... If you are personally affected or know someone who is affected because of the tragic events- you don't have to imagine because you already know what if feels like... ALL I can say is to seek help and comfort and DO NOT give up; people want to help, I want to help... I will and others will do whatever they can to help you in your difficult time and help you rebuild and recover from the tragic events that unfolded without notice.
We can have everything we ever want/need and a few moments later we could possibly be all gone in a matter of minutes and all we have left hopefully is our own lives, and hopeful those we love and know. It is unthinkable that in an entire town and community could be 95% gone in 2 hours. Can you imagine a whole shopping center with Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Hair Solone, McDonald's, Tire Shop, Auto parts store, your friendly real estate office, etc all GONE with all the residences houses full of memories and the roofs over everyone around their head is/could be GONE in a matter of a few minutes. The very fact that this isn't just a story of "what if," it is honestly a reality of how and what can be done to protect this everything from happening again... I can't and I am sure you can't even imagine what people are currently going through right now...
The reason I made this thread/post is, that I want to know what can be done and how can I help rebuild the town and help people recover. I know several people and even some people who sell and sold Real Estate up there; they could have and because of statistics, most likely lost everything like everyone around them(not confirmed, so hopefully the statistics are wrong). I want to help out and help them rebuild the community and town... so that this tragic event that occurred doesn't destroy a town and community forever. I want to figure out a way to help them recover and help others recover and rebuild. I know that they most likely(although not confirmed) lost their home and personal property, but I do NOT want to give up hope and I know that if someone(even a stranger) is down YOU always should see and figure out how to help them out. The golden rule states that "you should love your neighbor as yourself"(I know that it is very easy to say and repeat, but taking action is what we should all strive to do and act upon because anything is better than nothing). I and WE NEED to figure out some strategies to help those involved and hurting. Paradise is NOT lost and it WILL recover and rebuild!!! Like GOLD, those who were and are tragically affected by the tragic CAMP FIRE of 2018, will NOT be destroyed but refined and made stronger and better than ever before; and, new steps and precautions will help prevent this from ever happening anywhere else.
(A little background and personal info/story)
I am a very compassionate person and what happened and still is going on right now, really scares me, like everyone else. I visited Paradise, CA and went inside some friends homes and businesses; after coming home later that night, I started to think to myself," wow, it is beautiful... I want to live here, its very peaceful and it has most- if not all amenities of a large city...I love this place...". Honestly, looking back at my memories from a few days prior, I want and am cry thinking back to the first time I visited Paradise 3 days, before the fire spared/started early Thursday morning...
I actually planned to visit them again and confirm a meeting with them on the day that the tragic event unfolded(not knowing what would happen a few hours later): it all made me cry and hurt inside, when I messaged them to ask what time would be best to meet.... a few minutes later replied with a startling photo of smoke in horizon/sky, then a few minutes later they described a large groups of birds flocking away, and then a shocking and scary reply... that they all must "evacuate immediately" and that the wildfire was moving very very quickly! It is tragic and I want to cry... All I can do is think of ways I can be a resource and pray for those all who are affected and who are currently fearing "what is the next step and how can we recover? why? how? Please, I don't know... I am scared"
...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Please pray for those affected, give advice, and I ask that if you can help in any way do so(i am not asking for anything, I am just asking you to search on how you can help, because currently there are multiple gofund pages, Redcross donation, and places collecting items for donation to those affected and hurt..), if you don't have anything to give or think you don't have anything, maybe the most important thing you can do is convert them, research what they may want to do next to recover/start to rebuild, and pray for them all....
I know that my grammar needs some work, but I am trying to improve and I am a college student that is slowly but surely learning...

I cry when I step outside because the air I am breathing is literally what remains from someone's home and belongings. I am crying and sobbing right now, writing this because of what happened and is currently unfolding.
