I have been talking to people who live in both east and west Baltimore and the consensus seems to be (from both sides) that east Baltimore has a reputation for being "safe" when in fact the majority of violent crimes are east side related...

I have invested in very violent and low income communities for the majority of my time but some just will not work.

I'd love to review any resources you have on the city of Detroit; my reservation has been that the level of violent crime - particularly, shootings - in many neighbourhoods (with the exception of downtown) seems counterproductive to rental stability, but I'm sure there are positives I've yet to consider! 

Crime rates are shown to be slightly higher than the San Antonio average -violent crime is 12% higher, and property crime rate is 8% higher, however still lower than the crime rate in some other parts of the city.

The violent crime rate for Pittsburgh is quite high, and Pennsylvania is not ideal for some of our other business endeavors.

Lakeland has been going through a huge development, but, look at the violent crime they have.

Crime is pretty common though the worst types (violent assaults, heavy drug, etc) are relatively uncommon.

Issue is was convicted of a non violent crime and spent last 8 months in jail scheduled to be released in a month. 

I do not accept tenants with violent felonies, prior evictions, or felonies related to theft.

We use the old fashion method, I contact the previous landlord if they have a good rental history, I’m good - I really don’t care if they had a criminal background unless it had to do with violent crimes.
