As you said despite the headaches and lost money it was a " MBA in real estate " that probably helped you to avoid bigger issues in a large scale strategy.

I have since begun an MBA program with William and Mary and am trying to redirect my efforts toward the next chapter in my life.  

I have my MBA and currently work for an apparel company in Cypress California as a Senior Analyst.  

Certainly you cannot expect to drop into a new industry and know it from day one {Something, I wish they would drive home in MBA programs}, but the underlaying financials of a successful real estate business mirror those of any other successful business - the product or service being delivered is different.When we (my partner and I) ventured into real estate, I was aghast by how many buy-n-hold real estate investors did not run their properties like a business (now it is just amusing).  

I wanted to stay in banking, but it was either the long weeks, school for an MBA, or choose a job that would allow me to focus on my real passion for real estate.
