Don’t fault him too hard because by and Large His response is very typical of most people who share his ideology of getting paid as an employee .his thoughts on investing in real estate are solely based in fear because he is not educated on the subject and Fear comes from the unknown .

When we actually look at the prices of Real Estate, that's not what we actually have seen.While I don't think one should take their personal experiences into account for fear of extrapolating a biased opinion, I see this scenario done ALL the time here on BP, especially when I see postings involving places like NYC where people are saying I wouldn't invest here because my personal experience shows that it is un-affordable.YES... that is true... it is un-affordable.... when you do it ALONE, by yourself.

I currently have no homes in my name but I am married and fear that I wont qualify for a first time buyer and would have to put 25 percent down as a investor.

My fear is that not all college kids' parents are going to make 3X the monthly rent of a 3 BR unit, and therefore it may be difficult to find three qualified cosigners.

My fear with repairs on 100 year old stacks is that we won't be able to find any solid pipe to tie into and will have a forced whole replacement.I just saw another fully-occupied building that has 12 older waste stacks and got a knot in my stomach at the thought of having to displace residents to do the updates.

I’m not saying just jump into any old deal with knowledge ...but I will say it’s very easy to get scared and allow fear to paralyze you because of the unknown .
