How to get your spouse on board with REI?

I was wondering if anyone can give advice on getting their spouse on board? I am a newbie looking to buy my first rental property in 2018. My husband says he trusts me and supports me (knowing that I am the financially savvy one in the family), but he is a quite pessimistic given that he is a police officer and only sees the worst in people (think tenants pouring cement down the toilet, taking the water heater with them when they leave, or landlord/tenant eviction calls). I know these things can happen, and I should be prepared for things to go wrong on occasion, but I am not willing to let the horror stories keep me from buying my first property, especially if I have systems in place to hopefully minimize the risk of putting these types of tenants in my properties.

He’s only looking at the bad side because he has never seen the great rewards firsthand . Don’t fault him too hard because by and Large His response is very typical of most people who share his ideology of getting paid as an employee .his thoughts on investing in real estate are solely based in fear because he is not educated on the subject and Fear comes from the unknown . It is completely natural to fear the unknowns in life . But the good news is you can “ know” and mitigate loss simply by being educated and understanding the The business .
