They also replaced the missing roof shingles, pointed the chimneys and a few other jobs I would have never have been able to do.Cost me a few thousand but before they arrived I was paying for the following on an empty house: heating over the winter, electric, sewer, property tax.

This sort of thing also happens in Historic Districts, where non-elected Historic Commission members have the power to fine 'offenders'.Just last year I had a serious roof leak (no thanks to my tenants for telling me before it got serious) and it took A MONTH to get permission to replace the roof.I even had to SUBMIT A SAMPLE of the shingle to the commission for review.Hey Eddie -- if you'll start a National Landlord Lobbyist group you'll get my vote for President!

Software is 100% depended on how computerized your city is.Cheapest way is to go to the county register of deeds where the home is located and do a search.If the county is online you might even be able to access it right from home - sometimes for a small fee sometimes for free.or you can pay a title company to do the same thing.
