Hello,

I have seen a few homes that are vacant and boarded up and not Realtor sign in the yard, from the outside the seem in not to bad a shape. How can i find out what is going on with them, like foreclosure or taxes. I here there is a software program where you can ck on this besides the MLS, is this true or where would i need to look?

Software is 100% depended on how computerized your city is.

Cheapest way is to go to the county register of deeds where the home is located and do a search.

If the county is online you might even be able to access it right from home - sometimes for a small fee sometimes for free.

or you can pay a title company to do the same thing.

County records sounds like your best bet. I personally use www.taxnetusa.com to look up the tax and owner information.
