I had another case in IN, little better than IL. 

I’m not an attorney but I would think if this “new zoning” affects the resale value of your home (rental or otherwise) you have a pretty good case in court. 

At least that's the case in my jurisdiction; check with what's legal in yours.

@Ammon Brimhall thanks for your advice, I'm no special case in that I'm new to the field with such a vast amount of information out there it can get cloudy, so your words do help reinforce my feeling. 

I know that in Montgomery County you have to extend the option for a 2 year lease to a tenant, however I do not think that is the case in PG County.

OK we always think of Texas as a lot less expensive than west coast it appears that's only the case in some areas..
