It is sad to see people in their sixties and seventies stand behind a cash register in a grocery store or Walmart you just know they hoped to never end up there; yet there they are and actually I find them inspiring!

Job, pension, or some kind of gig-little business- Walmart greeter, etc.

Sure, we have other investments too, but they are 'just there' not nearly enough income to retire on.If it were not for rentals I would be that old guy at the cash register machine at Walmart! 

We use Rent Manager Software with Paylease so residents can ACH the money into our bank account, if the resident does not have a bank account they can use CashPay where they go to a Kroger or Walmart give them the cash and they put it in our bank account.

and immediately bought flat screens, drugs, beer, excessive toilet paper...I wonder how many of those checks got cashed at a Walmart and then spent there without a single food item?

There is so much development going on with the Hard Rock hotel and Casino, the Amazon facility, the Walmart distribution facility, Target distribution facility, and many other development projects as well.
