Upon reflection, I just realized that I LIVE in a 'bad' neighborhood.Here are the stats: frequent drug dealing and even more frequent drug use; occasional home invasions; frequent burglaries; frequent night muggings; frequent drive-by armed robberies; vehicle thefts; frequent property damage; monthly shootings; rapes and attempted rapes; assaults; and so on.Where do I live?

I think it is mostly burglary alarms though, not fire.

In my german area I live quiet, no thefts, no burglaries, no raids and no murders.

The tenants reported that burglary and break in used to happen in the community.

The average across the USA is 22.7 for their system)-Property Crime Ranking (Property Crime includes the offenses of burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson.

If it makes anyone feel better we caught all 3 guys, we also got them on other burglaries, and all of them got probation. 

Not only that, you run the risk of a burglary which will cause even more damage, which is obviously not a good look.

I work in the area and am constantly looking at properties but have the same fears of not being able to collect rent or prevent burglary's and getting the house stripped.
