Monthly South Florida Real Estate Investors  Meet-Up October 14th @6:15PM

                                     (Second Wendesday of Each Month)

Hello to all South Florida investors, contractors, real estate professionals,  attorneys, insurance professionals, builders...okay you get the point.

Calling everyone in Broward/Dade/Palm Beach Counties for our second  Meet-Up!
We had a great turn out at our first meet up and would like this one to be just as successful. It will take place in the beautiful Las Olas River  House. We hope to maintain the same open and free flowing envoirment we  all enjoy here on Bigger Pockets. This will be a place we can  come together, talk, help solve problems, make connections and do  business!

Hello all, hope you were able to visit the link that Nick posted. After  Speaking with @Brandon Turner we are not going to use the  Bigger Pockets Name for our meet up. Nick has agreed to sponsor the events and  we will use his company name . He has set up a Meet-Up through Meet-Up.com and we will continue  to use BP to get the word out as well.

Thanks for being so patient as we got organized.

Please RSVP via the following link October  14th Meet Up 6:15pm

We look forward to networking and actually doing  business/learning from one another. We hope to carry on the same open and  free communication that we find on BP at our meet-ups. We want to share and grow  and help each other grow.

I saw your posts for creating a new Meet Up group in your area. I didn't read through every post here so forgive me if I'm suggesting something that you have already thought of.

My group here in FL in Gainesville meet at a local restaurant for free-well sort of. The owner and the meeting organizers worked out something to allow us to meet and since it's at or around dinner time, we all end up ordering food after the meeting/social. So the owner of the restaurant gets payment in lieu of payment. :-) While we don't pay for the room to meet, we do pay for our meals and have a place to meet. It's a win-win. Plus, before joining my group I had never been to this place and they actually have great food. And there is no obligation to purchase food or drinks.

Some food for thought...Maybe find a place like a restaurant that has a room where everyone can meet and see if you can work out a deal.

Good luck!

-Daria

Thanks so much! This is a actually a great idea, how large is your meeting?

It might sound funny but I use BP as one way, I either post something in the marketplace or I connect with those who may be a god fit to do business with. If I can add value to their business and receive funds for my projects in exchange its a win-win. In 4 months I have connected with 2 solid provide money people through BP. And some others are potentials.

Another way I go about it is networking at local events or REIAs. I also pretty much tell every single person I meet what I do and believe it or not I have gotten phone calls from them asking how they can get involved...and I go in for the kill :) It's all about letting Real Estate ooze from your pours. Don't think of it as a specific task because it becomes daunting and seems harder than it is. If you hang around money you will eventually gain access to that same money.

Take a look around and get to know the site, your "few deals" will turn into "tons of deals" in no time. What are your goals moving forward? Have you decided on a niche or are you interedted in more than one? Feel free to reach out anytime.

Best of Luck!

There are tons of ways, just have to get creative, Read a few books and read through the site. As well as doing what you are doing now...simply ask.

Cody, you are on the right track. Saving while educating yourself is pretty much the best way to do this. Now, it is important that you don't get stuck in the trap of learning with no action. At some point you have to take a dive! I can't really give you a dollar amount you should save before investing I would say pay more attention to yourself then you money when it comes to this. Some will say 1K is enough while other will tell you 20K or 100K is good to start with. Renting to college kids can be a super lucrative niche and yes there will be problems that arise but remember there are ups and downs to any aspect of investing.

Find a niche/strategy you like and start there. Hope this help.

I wish you the very best of luck and commend you on your decision to start your journey. With a degree, great income and the desire to grow wealth through investing you are sure to create an excellent foundation on which you will live a highly successful life!
