Post: 50/50 partnership. Difference between dissolving a partnership and exiting a partnership ?

Hi Gurus and Gurets ;)

Our business has 8 rental properties meant to be held long term:

My business partner says there is a difference between exiting a business through exit strategies listed in an llc and disolving a business. Is she correct ? (doesn't seem accurate to me)

She is saying if we exit based on the exit strategies for normal cause (wanting to retire etc) then the exit strategies will be enforced but if we aren't getting along and someone wants out ; that regardless of what they exit strategies say a judge will award half of the rental properties to each 50/50 partner. I am under the impression that if the exit strategies say someone unhappy or wanting out for any reason can be bought out ; that is what will take place and the person wanting out will not have the option of taking half the properties if they choose.

We aren't fighting but just want clarification: who is right ?

if there is enough items have an estate same. You do zero percent of the work and make most of the profit leaving a % for the estate sale team.

Is there anything valuable in the house ? I bought a similar place last year ; hired an estate sale team to clear it out and sold $8000 worth of what looked like hoarding junk. The estate sale team took close to 30% and I walked with over $5000 in my pocket and got the mess cleaned out for me ;)

I respect your thoughts but couldn't disagree more.

I am 100% debt free for the rest of my life and my borrowing power just went through the roof. To own 9 high end rentals that cash flow well ; have a $200,000 k personal house mortgage fully paid off; and only be 30 years old -- I would venture to say financially I'm doing better than 95+ % of the population.

Why sock away funds that I can't touch for another 30 yrs leaving the potential future very stressful financially when I can live a stress free financial life going forward with this decision.

@Steve Babiak

Approximately what do you (or anyone else on here) pay for labor once they have the counter and sink already pre cut and ready to lay including plumbing hook up? $100 ?

@Dawn Anastasi

I will work on getting you a pic. In the meantime give me your thoughts on the material.

It's the old cultured marble/ceramic look. Can that be painted?

@Steven Hamilton II

Thanks for the advice a few weeks back. After a LONG hold time they took the $3000 penalty off over the phone quickly when asked :)

Not looking to spend $500 + labor&materials on replacing a counter. Any ideas anyone?

Painted possibly ? And if so; what product to use ?
