It is weird to me that your mind would go to a scenario that a landlord would want to hang around their occupied unit just because they have the legal authority to do so.
Have you ever encountered such a thing? Because I have not and I know dozens and dozens of landlords here in Houston and they have never talked about doing such things.

That is a very weird comment?!
I am not sure what type of property owners you hang around with, but in our investment funds we have properties that we haven't seen for years and that's how we like it.
I do not think I have ever met a property owner who wants to hang around, let alone go inside their occupied properties unless there was an issue.

This is one of the reasons why we love to own property here, as property owners we have the right to protect our property.
As long as tenants abide by the lease (their contractual obligation) then there are no issues, but if they break their contract, we as owners have our rights protected.

And a lack of a profile picture and long standing post history is a red flag as well.

Hey @Harry Asnien this information is specific to Ambergris Caye
I was just talking to my developer down there this weekend about that. There are a couple of good local GC's down there and they have their own work crews, but realistically it will take about 4-5 years to get a development Project of any size done there per my developer.
Ambergris is not considered "remote" per se, it is where 70% of all of the overnight tourists go at some point during their vacation, but you do have to barge in materials, and that can be a logistical undertaking.

We currently invest in Ambergris Caye, Belize, so to answer the ownership questions and market questions for that specific area:
1) Property is held fee simple title, there is no foreign restriction on ownership, and the government insures title. You can buy title insurance, but most people do not.
2) The tourism market is steadily increasing without a concomitant increase in the numbers of rooms, there has actually been a decrease is rooms over the past few years, as people have been moving there full time and taking those condos out of the rental pools. (this is the reason we are developing down there).
3) Southwest airlines will begin flying out of Houston Hobby airport starting Oct 15 daily, this will increase the number of seats going into the Country around 1000 per week, this should hopefully bring down some of the costs in getting to and from the market. JetBlue will also start service as well, we are just unsure of the date.
If you have any more specific questions about this market, I would be happy to answer.
