I am having such A hard time to find a reliable contractor someone I feel I can trust in Bayonne NJ.

I just bought a 2 Unit building that I am trying to add a 3rd Unit in the basement it is raw,  The city requires 7 feet so the job will include digging down 6 Inches and I will have to split up the Utility's heat and electric...

I am trying craigslist I am trying homeadvisor and I feel so lost.

What are the most important things I should look for in a contractor, and what are the most important questions I should ask them before hiring.

Someone please help me with this.

Thanks in Advance.

@Michael Elfant

Bayonne is a really nice community, it is safe and really stable, and not crowded with investors. But there is a ton of downside like I am learning.

Taxes are crazy it will not let you cash flow.

City is mismanaged like crazy.

Schools are overcrowded.

they run huge budget deficits.

You will not be able to get away with anything legally, they are as tough as it gets.

@Raj G.

I go to the meet ups in Jersey City.
