@Kristina Kuba That’s what I figured. I was wondering if there was a work around but it doesn’t seem like there is.

@Zachary Hadjah Hell yeah! Way to graduate! I am finishing my degree in Computer Programming in Dec so I am super excited! Tampa is a super hot market right now. If you ever need any advice on where to look let me know I love giving my 2 cents haha. Good luck with your investing career!

Post: Tampa Investors - Garage vs Car Port

Tampa investors I have a question for you. While looking through Zillow I noticed a lot of homes have turned there garages into extra bedrooms or homes only have garage ports. It’s my personally opinion to have a garage anywhere I live. Have you noticed that trend as well for renters. Are they more inclined to rent homes with garages rather than car ports or is the difference so small it doesn’t really matter?

Thanks!

@Jorge Vazquez Jorge you bring up some interesting points. What about the look to them? Have you seen families favor block homes over wood framed homes due to the look or curb appeal of them. I can see how Wood framed homes could have a stigma to it where most people would avoid. Thanks for the info!

@Marc Rodriguez Have you looked into hard money lenders, partnerships or even off market deals? I think that is a way you can combat the lack of funds issue. Also Jorge outlined some really great areas to look into. I’ve driven through some of these areas and there are more and more places being renovated which means those areas are hot. Good luck and hopefully you find yourself a great deal!

@Ty Martell like most people are saying Lakeland is up and coming and that due to is location between to major cities with i4 running right through it. I’ve been looking on Zillow for multi-families in there and there are some but they go fast. Good luck! Hopefully you find something great!

@Jorge Vazquez I was just looking at properties for sale in Lakeland and it seems like you’re really getting the most bang for your buck. It seems like the prices are cheaper than riverview/Brandon areas but the rents are about the same as those areas. Have you had any luck with multi-families in Lakeland or just SFHs?

@Eric Schroeder I am happy you're posting about this because I didn't even know this was a financing option. What kind of loan would that be? I am active duty military and I wonder how the VA loan works with STRs and if it's even possible. Now you really got the wheels turning in my head. Good luck! I hear Ybor City is a major location for AirBNBs right now.

@Braden C. Haha I can only imagine how a bad stucco job would look! I think that finding right person for the job will probably be worse than the job itself. At least from the horror stories I hear about contractors all the time. Thanks!

@Brandon M. That’s awesome to hear. I feel like that’s an easy way to update the curb appeal! Thanks!
