@Joseph Delarosa Make sure all of your injuries/med issues are documented. Tax free income for life is nothing to overlook. I recommend that you really consider using that money for investing.

Also, if you are disabled enough you will be exempt from the VA funding fee. I cannot even add up the amount of $ I have saved from that over 3 houses and multiple refinancing efforts.

I did 9+ years myself and understand the need to get out of the situation. Now I can look back at my Navy years as some of the best ever, but it didn't really seem that way for a lot of the time when I was active. You may want to seriously consider reserves, I wish I tried to fight my way through that at the time but I had a whole new life to prep for and put all of my efforts into IT industry rather than banking some more military time. Now I would like to have had more years of Navy stuff to think about and the additional income that would have came with it.

Either way good luck.

Hi Joseph,

I am new to the game myself but I have a mentor. I recommend that you find a local realtor or investor that has experience and is willing to show you the ropes or mentor you through the process. I am learning a ton that way and of course reading here on BP. Lot;s of great advise and info.

Greetings,

Looking for Flips near Boulder, Lyons and then rentals in Memphis after we do a couple. I have a RE pro mentoring myself and another guy starting out. We did a trip to Memphis and I was ready to dive in but decided to slow down a little and start with a local flip with the guys to get our feet wet. This is a complicated thing to get into but just the investigation and learning stage is so much fun and invigorating.

Anyone Flipping nearby? I know, I missed the best time to start the last couple of years, hoping it's not to late.

Greetings,

I live in Erie and am learning also, mostly from my neighbor who has multiple rentals in your area. I am planning to attend the meetup in Erie Sept 2.
