I'm also curious about this particular attorney - his book on the real estate law and asset protection in Texas is outstanding!

Do you have PDF of that book that you can share?

I don't, unfortunately. However, a lot of material from this book is available for free on his website.

I'm looking to do the same thing with Regdee. I don't want to only be able to invest in a fraction of the deals I see. I'll try to check back in here as I go.

Same thing. I initiated a process with them a couple of days ago and started preparing for Series 65 exam. Let's stay in touch.

Curt Hale at PrimeLending is top notch. He is versed in all things REI and was even a guest speaker at the local REI meet-up a month or so ago about all the different options he can offer. (unfortunately I missed that one.) Sorry, I'm not much help in the way of property managers.

 Hey Taylor,

I went through some old forum posts to find this. Are you aware of any local real estate investing meet ups in Abilene? TYIA

We meet the 1st Tuesday of every month at 4pm and 3rd Saturday of every month at 10am at Front Porch Coffee in Abilene (see calendar attached).

Thank you so much! I won't make it this weekend but will most likely come May 2nd. How will I know which group is you guys?

We usually sit in the back room at a round table and energetically discuss real estate - you will immediately figure it out, everyone does :)

@Lydia Bundy is the best realtor in our area, in my opinion, especially for investments (she understands all aspects of a deal: contracts, laws, profitability, math, etc). I work with her exclusively and I know that she already worked with Dyess guys.

The best way to find a good lender is to simply call every one in town - there aren't too many in Evansville. In my experience, Old National Bank has the lowest closing costs and is more appropriate in conventional loan situations.

To be honest, we're struggling with finding one ourselves. Vision Construction is not bad, but expect a rental home quality from them and don't ask for any tile job.

Same here, I own 13 rental units in Evansville, single-family and small multi-family, also out of state. I do occasional flips and wholesaling as well. Would love to connect.

By far, the most useful source to me was Brandon & Heather Turner's "The Book on Managing Rental Properties". It also includes a set of forms you can use in your day-to-day operations.

Hi Dan,

I am using Indiana Farmers for most of my properties, but they recently had big losses and do not accept new clients. Try Double Eagle Insurance, I had some positive experience with them:

I also had recommendations for Erie Insurance from my property manager, try to get a quote from them.
