Hey Barbara! There are some older postings on there, but if you go to recent at the top right it should bring you to the most recent postings, right now it looks like the last one updated was 26 minutes ago.

Already such amazing advice from the community as usual. Specifically agree with some of the comments about the leg work that you will have to do to source some of the off market deals. A great place to start when you are ready to find an investor friendly real estate agent on BiggerPockets is the Agent Finder. In less than two minutes you can be matched with agents in your market and the best part is you get to read their bios, and reviews and decide who you reach out to. https://www.biggerpockets.com/...

There are a million ways to answer this question and it is always going to be what works best for you two. I know that we will have a ton of great suggestions in the community for you to pick through. For me personally I started by buying a house and renting out a room in the basement. Then grew that to buying another house and renting the basement as an ensuite to traveling nurses. I felt like the lessons I learned from having roommates aka house hacking and then the traveling nurses helped me to be comfortable by the time I was ready to rent my whole house. So to answer your specific questions.

1. Rich Dad Poor Dad or any of the BP books that might tie to your ultimate strategy, there are a ton.

2. When I bought my first house I was like wow $300k that is expensive, and a few years later sold it for $500k so I believe that house prices are just going to keep rising and have always been happy I bought when I did.

3.I think diversification is important so I also have stocks, bonds and index funds.

Good luck on your adventure and can't wait to hear about what path you choose.

@Andrew Merewitz I bought a property on Lake Norman with the intent to Airbnb it and instead made it my primary residence and rented out my old place. The Lake Norman and Charlotte area seem to be still in the "affordable" range as compared to several other markets but the benefit of also being desirable. I am saving up more cash for the next investment but also love connecting with like minded folks in the market.

@Forrest Cristilly we have made our entire site responsive, which just means that it can work well on desktop, tablet or on mobile so there isn't a need to have a separate app. We had one in the past, but we no longer are supporting that. In the future there might be a need for an app, but right now with the design of the site we are hoping folks can use all the tools they need just from the browser. Let me know if you have any feedback or thoughts on anything that you think an app might offer that the site doesn't now.
