@Jack B. It would be great if you could share with us how you analyze the Seattle market, and let  us know whether we are near a peak or not, and why. Much appreciated!

@Adam Juodis Thanks for your good feedback. That make sense, and that is where I'll initially focus.

@Jo-Ann Lapin  I am targeting the periphery around the SF Bay area, including Sacramento, Stockton and Gilroy. Are you able to possibly help with the financing of my deals?  If so, let's talk.

@Account Closed  thanks for your input.  I'll certainly keep your comments about title companies and lawyers in mind.

@Christina Womack Thank you for creating this post and getting so many great answers.

I am in the same boat, living on the peninsula, wondering who I can find attractive opportunities within driving distance from my house.

How does the successful Real Estate Investors living the SF-Bay area do it?

Hello,

I have spent the past three months learning about REI, and I am now eager to focus the next three months on taking action and learning "on the job" by completing my first transaction. I am planning to Buy & Hold SFH or small multiplex, in Northern California between Sacramento and Monterrey County.

My goal right now is to build out my team and support network. I am therefore reaching out to the great BP Community, to ask:

“ Who do you know that I should know?” (*)

I am looking for the best lender, broker, property manager, contractor, Lawyer, CPA, insurance agent, title company, etc…. that have been working with.

I also want to connect with fellow investors and partners.

I thank you in advance for your support and recommendations.

Best,

JT

PS (*) Just read the excellent book “The Millionaire Real Estate Investor” by Gary Keller, who recommends this approach to build your success network (p. 166).

@John Hixon Many thanks for sharing such an inspiring story.  Congrats!

Can you share some detail about the actual message of your mailers?  Did you experiment with different types of content?

Many thanks!

@Melissa Dorman  Thanks for your wise words; I have been asking myself whether I should look into turnkey but your comments makes a lot of sense, so I will keep on doing the research myself.

What is the market like for buying rental properties in Oregon?  I am in the Bay Area, and starting to look at out of state opportunities.

Thanks,

@Ali Boone  I am based in North California, and I am starting on my research for which City/County to focus on.

1) Which North Cal area would you recommend I look at from a cost vs rent perspective?

2) How do you suggest I go about analyzing a particular city or zib-code to find the one that is most attractive?

Many thanks,

JT
