Christopher Phillips no I wasn't. My intention was to use it for a rental property. I'm looking for ways to get money for renovations

Two weeks ago, a good friend of mine recommended the BP podcast. Shortly after, I created a profile. I'm want to learn everything I can about real estate and real estate investment. And from doing some research, I came across a decent article on Zillow helping me better understand the 203k FHA Loan, the requirements, benefits and drawbacks.

If you have used this loan, which type would you recommend for a first time investor? How would you describe the process? What was the timeline? What road blocks did you plow through?

I would love to hear about your experience!

Hi Mike Cumbie! Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my post. My problem hasn't been getting leads it's knowing what to do as their agent. Through some training on negotiating, how to do CMAs and other topics to solidify a stronger foundation I think are reasonable expectations from my broker that I'm not getting. If it weren't for the agent's help, who was there by chance, I don't think I would've submitted my clients offer to purchase correctly. And that's where I feel my broker could support me more with. My mind set in in a right place because I know I will succeed because I've taken my education in my own hands by reading books, listening to podcasts, watching video, even joining this forum. I simply believe my broker could help me wrap my mind around the basics faster. Nonetheless, I appreciate your advice.

Thank you Allyssa Compton for your advice! After having a week off and some time to spend in the office I definitely see the value in it. I've met and talked to our office's too producer who offered his help at any time and even will send some leads my way with a split of my commission. But with his support I'm more than happy with that arrangement. As far as my broker, I agree with you and will be talking to him later today about my expectations are and see if we can come to a resolution!

Congrats! I hope to follow you in your footsteps very soon

I'm a new agent with about two months of experience. I've actually been doing well with getting leads, but don't feel as though I'm getting the support and training I need to be more than an average agent. Granted, I am part time, at the moment, but I've expressed interest in learning and literally coming from one job to the office for individualized training.

I've done my first showing by myself, my broker left the office early and luckily another agent (whom I never met) was there to sit with me and my client to submit my first offer yesterday. I have first listing on Tuesday that I'm sure I'll be attending by myself.

My question is what should I reasonably expect from my broker or a broker in general? I understand that in this business I'm the captain of my own ship, but it's to the point I don't want to take on more leads if I don't feel confident in providing my clients the best of what they hired me to do! Has anyone else ever been in this situation?

@David Gonzalez as new agent myself (two months in) I agree with @Alex Deacon and focus on mentorship and training. I'm at an office now where I have a larger split, but am unsatisfied with the amount training.
