@Jose Gonzalez  Hi Jose!  There are lots of podcasts out there that will give you knowledge about Real Estate Investing and might be able to help guide you in your decision process as well.  The Real Estate Guys Radio is a good podcast to listen.  We just returned from the 15th Annual Investor Summit at Sea (cruise) with almost 200 other investors.  This is a great group.

Ken McElroy has a few good books out there.  He started off in Single Family and now does large Multifamily Apartments.  I believe he is doing storage units now as well, since the apartment market is so tight.

Look into Michael Blank.  We met him on the ship and he is a great guy.  He has a lot of free content out there for you to learn from.

Listen to everything you can!  Read everything you can!  Attend all the Free Meetups and/or conferences that you can.  Start being intentional with the people you meet.  Real Estate Investing is a relationship business.

One of the greatest quotes by Zig Ziglar: “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.”

Good luck!!!

@Account Closed  Hi Al!  Check out Ken McElroy's books:  The ABC's of Real Estate Investing, The Advanced Guide to Real Estate Investing and He has a Property Management book as well.  Look into Michael Blank.  He puts a lot of free content online.  There are some past forum posts that have provided a bunch of books that others have recommended as well.

We have syndicated a number of multifamily deals. We currently have 1750 units and more on the way! I would highly recommend getting educated on syndication and what is/is not allowed from a legal perspective.

@Dion Huey  HI Dion!  Have you heard of the Real Estate Guys?  They have a Syndication Event twice a year.  They also have a couple of groups that you can join that gives you more access to them and more detailed training.  We have attended their Syndication event as well as their Sales Training event - Winning Funds and Influencing People (I think).  We also just returned from their 15th Annual Investor Summit at Sea.  I definitely recommend!  The culture that these guys create is incomparable! The Real Estate Guys Radio is how you will find them online.

@Diego Torres  Hi Diego!  Check out The Real Estate Guys Radio - They have great content on their podcasts and they hold 2 Syndication Events a year!  Love these guys and the culture that they create within their group.

@Brandon Sturgill  Hi Brandon!  @John Jacobus is a wealth of knowledge!  He provided some great resources to get you started for sure.  I just returned from The Real Estate Guys Annual Investor Summit at Sea (15th year)...and I had the opportunity to meet Michael Blank and Ken McElroy.  These are both great guys and both have great material out there.

A couple more suggestions for you:

@Shannon Hogan  Hi Shannon! We have syndicated a number of deals. As others have stated, there is a fair bit required to syndicate a deal. In addition to getting a mentor/partner, I would also highly recommend you understand the legal aspects of syndicating a MF deal. There are many syndicators out there that do not know what is/is not allowed when syndicating. Syndicating is considered a Securities, so you need to be very careful.

Generally speaking….most syndicators would be interested in having someone find deals and someone that could help raise money. While syndicators are already raising money, it is always helpful having others that can raise money because it could potentially help a syndicator acquire larger assets.

The Real Estate Guys have a podcast that I recommend.  They also have 2 Syndication events a year.  I believe that their next one is in September.

If you have specific questions regarding syndications, please feel free to reach out.

Nicholas Townsend Hi Nicholas! My favorite MF books are by Ken McElroy - Rich Dad advisor. He wrote the ABCs of Real Estate Investing and The Advanced Guide to Real Estate Investing. The 2nd one is what I read first and love it! Easy, fast read...

As suggested by others, it would be good to consult experts.  However, it is also my understanding that a SOLO401k does avoid UBIT & UDFI....but the debt needs to be non-recourse.

@Ricardo Munoz  Check out The Real Estate Guys Radio.  They have podcasts and have 2 Syndication events a year, in addition to another few events.  Ken McElroy has a couple of really good books: ABC's of Real Estate Investing and Advanced Guide to Real Estate Investing.  He is associated with Robert Kiyosaki, Rich Dad Poor Dad.  Please let me know if you have specific questions you would like answered.  We have done 1-4 units (single family and small multi-family) and now do large apartments through syndication. We currently have 1750 units.  We prefer the larger complexes as they are actually less work for us (using a property management company) than our smaller Multi-family.  Let me know if I can help answer any questions.
