I wish I could be in the courthouse with popcorn assuming that day ever comes.  Get them Will!

Hi @Michael Fundaro,

Welcome to the site.  It sounds like you both have some exciting years ahead of you both.  I am also in the Hartford area and looking to pick up more rental properties to pursue some goals along with my husband.

It's always great to connect with other local investors.  Best of luck with your goals.

Hi @Derrick Longo, welcome to the site.  You're in a great place to learn and network.  @Malik Champlain, is right that the podcasts are a great place to start learning.  They are filled with fantastic information and they give me a positive boost and keep me passionate while I continue searching for a property in CT as well.

If you're looking for a great agent, @Michael Noto is your guy.  He is an investor as well and can help guide you on which areas make sense and which ones don't.

I agree that house hacking is a great way to go.  I really wish I did that on my first property.  If you only want to be in the area for another 18 months or so, that would give you time to learn a bit about landlording and iron all the kinks out before you moved on and filled the other unit with another tenant.  Best of luck to you!

If the credit issues are no less than 3 years old, I would consider them.  If they are recent, the good job doesn't matter.  A person can make all the money in the world and still choose not to pay their basic obligations.
