Post: Can you get it under contract prior to auction?

Is this possible? To get a foreclosed property under contract with a lender on an agreed upon price. Then attend the auction and "purchase" the property (win the bidding at whatever amount it reaches).

I've been seeking more info on this and am under the impression that it could be done, but have yet to be convinced.

Any input would be great.
