Welcome Chris. I was in summit NJ less than a month ago, and I loved it there, almost considered moving there, till I saw the Property taxes they paid don't know how people afford it. I did notice few houses being teared down and building new ones with decent profit margin when I talked to one of the builders. best of luck.

Hi Jimmy thank you for the quick response, I do live in surrey myself. my thinking is anything bought at the right price can be flipped for a profit but since I have never bought a condo or wanted to live in a condo, I have the feeling that it could be harder to sell as less people may want it.
do you mind sharing your story on the condo flip? more interested in what things did you update to bring its value up.

Hey guys. I have had rental houses and right now have a house that I am renting the main floor and living in the basement with my wife, saving all the money I can. I have been reading BP and getting great info but I wanted to know in a more expensive market like Vancouver and its tri cities if its possible to flip apartments/townhouses to start creating more capital and than move on to houses.
my other thought was looking at towns that are about 30min to an hour away and the price of property there is usually half of what it is in Vancouver.
I am a pretty hands on kinds of guy and have done a lot of the finishings(painting, trimming, fixtures) all the way to dry walling and basic plumping and electrical work. That's why I am looking at somewhere close by.
