The bank I went to was Compass Bank.  The head banker said that exactly - she suggested I leave the word "Investments" out of my entity name because that will ALWAYS raise a red flag.  It is indeed the words "Investments" in my Entity name.  I am going to heed your advice and just say real estate transactions.

Thank you Whitney Tyson!  You are correct - it was my Entity which has the word "Investments" in it that apparently throws up the red flag because of "investments" which investors get involved in foreign countries.  The suggestion from the Head Banker was that I change the name of my Entity, and leave out the word "Investments".

So what is the correct terminology when opening a business checking account when asked what I do? When I answered "Real Estate Investments", it raised a red flag, and it goes to the Legal Dept. for review. I never had this before in days past when I had business checking. The banker indicated that due to a new rule a few years ago, and money laundering, the restrictions and red tape are immense. Any suggestions on terminology for what my "job" is when opening a business checking account?

@Danny Carter  thank you so much!  I've been referred to them as well, so it's good to hear from more than one investor who's worked with them.  Glad to see you're in Indy, too!
