Hey everyone,

Has anyone negotiated with the State to reduce a tax lien or deed certificate quote and was successfully? We are looking particularly right now in Alabama, but also would like to know about ANY successes!

How is this accomplished? Thank you so much for your input.

Assuming a quote is $5000 and you counter the quote and get the tax deed for $500 for a property, what is paid if the former owner or a lien holder wants to redeem the property? $5000 or $500 plus interest?
